Chastain joins SS Green Light Racing for 2012

MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- SS Green Light Racing announced Tuesday that 19-year old late model standout Ross Chastain will join the team for the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. Under the guidance of owner and crew chief Bobby Dotter, Chastain will assume driving duties beginning with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway next month.

"I'm very excited to work together with Bobby Dotter and I want to help grow with the team and improve myself throughout the year," Chastain said. " I think we have set realistic goals and I'm excited to get to North Carolina and begin preparing for the season."

Chastain ran five Truck Series races in 2011, finished 10th in his first career start at Lucas Oil Raceway, completed 98.5 percent of the laps in the five races with an average finish of 18.8.

Returning to its familiar No. 08 for 2012, Chastain and team are guaranteed a starting spot for the first four races of the season. Sponsorship is currently being finalized and will be announced at a later date.
